This week is National Stoke Week.

National Stroke Week 2024 is here, and it’s a vital time to familiarize ourselves with the F.A.S.T. (Face, Arms, Speech, Time) signs of a stroke. Recognizing these signs can be lifesaving for someone you care about.

The Stroke Foundation recommends using the F.A.S.T. test as a simple way to remember the key indicators of a stroke. Here’s what to do:

Face: Check their face. Is one side drooping or uneven?

Arms: Can they lift both arms, or is one arm weak?

Speech: Is their speech slurred or hard to understand? Can they follow simple instructions?

Time: Time is crucial. If you notice any of these signs, call 000 immediately.

Remember, a stroke is a medical emergency. Stay vigilant with your loved ones—it could make all the difference.
