Headspace Queanbeyan (visiting Bungendore)

Headspace Queanbeyan now have appointments available in Bungendore. They see anyone between the ages of 12 and 25, no diagnosis or referral is needed. They can help with brief intervention for mild and moderate mental health concerns. They also have 2 psychologists (Mental health treatment plan is required) and all services are free.

David Cleverly – Psychologist

David is a Registered Psychologist and is a full member of the Australian Association of Psychologists incorporated. David works in private practice and provides Psychological services across the lifespan, including: children, youth, adults and has extensive experience completing educational assessments, behavioural assessments and ASD assessments.

David is an approved WorkCover provider in NSW and the ACT and uses a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Mercedes Pasco – Psychologist

Mercedes will be with us on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s for a range of psychotherapy options for adults, children of all ages and their carers. Please check her website for appointments.

In adults, Mercedes has a professional interest in: Anxiety; Depression; Domestic Violence; Sexual Abuse; ASD, Eating disorders and Postnatal Anxiety and depression.

In Children and Adolescents, Mercedes has extensive experience with Anxiety, Behavioural Symptoms, Depression, ADHD and ASD.

Mercedes is now conducting formal ASD or/and ADHD assessments for children and adults. Reports should take no longer than 3 weeks after the last session. Patients will need a referral and appointment can be booked through Bungendore Medical centre reception.

Kate Soulsby – Accredited Mental Health Social Worker AMHSW

Kate has over twenty-five years of psychotherapy experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various clinical settings in ACT Health, NSW Health, Department of Defence, non-government sector and private practice. She has an extensive background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy and mindfulness approaches. She is also an experienced clinical supervisor, trainer and consultant providing competitive rates for interested therapists, teams or agencies.

Kate’s key areas of interest and experience are sexual assault trauma, childhood trauma, domestic violence, couples work, depression and anxiety, alcohol and other drug substance use issues and grief and loss.

Her approach to therapy is relational, integrative and collaborative to help you identify your goals, then take the necessary steps towards positive change and improvement in the quality of your life. Virginia Chambers – Psychologist

Virginia Chambers has 20 years of experience as a registered Psychologist.  She has specialised in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy) and is now a consultant in this therapy.  EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organisation as the best practice for traumas.  It is also effective for addictions and negative childhood experiences for people at any age.

Virginia will call on her experience in many therapies as she works with you to improve your quality of life.
